SRO Motorsports Group CEO and Founder Stéphane Ratel took the opportunity of this year’s Total 24 Hours of Spa to unveil the 2018 Blancpain GT Sports Club, with SRO’s Bronze-drivers series set to visit six prestigious tracks once again, including an exciting maiden trip to Monza.
Next year’s campaign will actually kick off at the famed Italian Grand Prix venue on April 21/22. Blancpain GT Sports Club riders and runners will then head to the south of France on June 2/3, as Circuit Paul Ricard welcomes round two of the 2018 season.
After hosting the 2016 and 2017 openers, Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli is up next on the calendar (June 23/24), before the Blancpain GT Sports Club makes the now traditional trip to the Belgian Ardennes to serve as a curtain-raiser to the iconic Total 24 Hours of Spa (July 27-28).
The back end of the 2018 programme mirrors this year’s schedule with rounds at Budapest’s Hungaroring (date TBC) and Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya (September 29/30) scheduled to close the season.
The 2018 calendar thus ensures the Blancpain GT Sports Club once again visits five Formula 1 grand prix venues, while serving as a support event to the high-profile Blancpain GT Series across all of its six rounds. As SRO's Bronze-only drivers series gears up for an exciting fourth season, this further strengthens the credential of the Blancpain GT Sports Club as an ideal stepping stone and proving ground between club competition and professional-level racing in Europe and beyond.
